Real Climate has a nice discussion about time series and statistics. This discussion led me to Daniel Bedford's paper about Agnotology. This lead me to the Journal of Geography, where, in the right hand column, a reference was made to another paper, Google Earth as a Geography Education Tool.
This last reference has a nice description of how to go about designing a lesson plan. I am not a teacher but I have thought about creating a lecture for my local community. I would have to plan it in Dutch.
