Here is an image of hodograph and wind profiles over the North Sea area. Most interesting is that I had to extend the axes. The maximum wind speed was measured at 93 m/s over Castor, England.
These radiosondes are the midnight launches. The front with the gusty winds passed over my location in the Netherlands around 3:45 in the morning (it woke me up). The following days also showed a pattern of rising and falling temperatures (by 5 degrees C sometimes.)
